Layers in CADStudio
How CADStudio layers and layer groups work, including visibility, freeze, active layer, style, nested groups, and selecting objects by layer or group.
Layers help organize a CADStudio drawing.
The right toolbar shows the active layer, visibility, freeze state, and a compact style preview.
Use Manage in the Layers panel to open the Layer Manager.
In Layer Manager, you can rename layers and groups, change layer color, line type, and line width, move layers and groups up or down, indent layers under groups, indent groups under groups, collapse groups, hide groups, freeze groups, and select all objects in a layer or group.
When you change a layer setting such as color, line type, or width, objects on that layer update to match the layer setting.
Freeze makes objects non-interactive. Hide removes them from view. Collapse is only for organizing the layer list.
A layer can be placed under a nested group, so you can use a folder-like structure for larger drawings.

Layer Manager
Layer Manager is where you edit layer names, styles, groups, visibility, freeze state, order, nesting, and object selection by layer/group.

Nested layer groups
The Layers panel can show nested groups and indented layers, with visibility, freeze, collapse, active layer, and style previews kept close to the drawing.
