Create a Project and WBS
Create a Project and WBS with a fictional company example.
A Project collects a priced scope. WBS and Phase records organize its hierarchy. BOQ items beneath that hierarchy inherit the Project Pricing profile and applicable cost adjustments. Parent Project / WBS / Phase placement is therefore part of costing, not only visual grouping.
A record called Project inside a .ca collection does not itself create an online account workspace or assign access rights. Use the platform workspace controls for sharing and permissions.
All companies, prices, quantities, dates and documents are fictional examples. They demonstrate the software, not real offers, project evidence or commercial advice.
Create a Project and WBS
Follow the on-screen click instructions and highlighted controls. Field entry moves more quickly; pause or use chapters whenever needed. All companies, prices, quantities, dates and documents are fictional examples. They demonstrate the software, not real offers, project evidence or commercial advice.
Start a working collection
Download the starter .ca example and open it through Catalog File > Open. It contains fictional companies, a location and Document Types. Save your own working copy.
Create the Project
Choose New Record > Project. Enter Aster Workshop Renovation and PRJ.ASTER. Set Start Date to 2026-09-01.
Define two work sections
Create WBS records Works and Handover. In Parent Project / WBS / Phase select Aster Workshop Renovation.
Keep the hierarchy clear
Place the floor and decoration BOQ items under Works and the review item under Handover. Open the Project to inspect the scope.

Add pricing next
Open Project Pricing on the Project. Follow the separate pricing guide before relying on totals.
Save and recalculate deliberately
Save records and your .ca collection. File > Recalculate Costs refreshes the current Project scope when a Project is open. Opening a collection alone does not automatically recalculate saved totals.
