Create a Breakdown from Resources with a fictional company example.
A Breakdown is a unit-cost recipe. It links to resource records and can also contain another Breakdown. Its unit describes the output; component units describe what is consumed. Our floor recipe produces 1 m2 and consumes 1.05 m2 of panels, 0.40 h of labour, 0.10 h of cutter time and 1 unit of the delivery allocation. At ASTER-26 prices its direct unit rate is 32.40 EUR/m2.
Incidence means component units per output unit. Productivity is the reciprocal: 0.40 h/m2 equals 2.5 m2/h. No. Resources multiplies consumption for a crew; it does not change elapsed crew productivity. A Driving Resource identifies the row used for the displayed Breakdown productivity.
Project / Price Set Code on a Breakdown identifies its recipe set. It is separate from a Resource Price Set. Versions preserve exact assignments: a BOQ points to a specific Breakdown record. Changing the preferred code does not silently replace an assigned revision. Use Versions > New Version to review a changed recipe before reassigning it.

Create a Breakdown from Resources

Create the recipe
Select New Record > Breakdown. Enter Install floor panels, BRK.01, output unit m2 and currency EUR.
Select the recipe price set
In Breakdown Version enter Project / Price Set Code ASTER-26. Keep Revision 1 and Draft while preparing the teaching example.
Assign the material
In Resources and Components, add a Resource and select MAT.01 Floor panels. Enter incidence 1.05. Confirm the selected resource rate is 18 EUR/m2.
Add labour and equipment
Add LAB.01 with incidence 0.40 and No. Resources 1; optionally mark it Driving Resource. Add EQP.01 with incidence 0.10.
Include delivery once
Add TRN.01 with incidence 1. The material offer excludes delivery. If using a delivered material rate, remove this extra transport contribution.
Check and save
Review 18.90 + 10.00 + 1.50 + 2.00 = 32.40 EUR/m2. Save the Breakdown and later assign it to a BOQ item.
